Whenever i need to prepare something quick, or perhaps when i'm a tad bit lazy (or busy making christmas cards), i'd take out my wok and i stir fry my way around in the kitchen. the secret to a successful stir fry is speed and the fire. turn your fire on high and let the sizzle do the talking..
This is a dish that doesnt require much. suits me well since i have my 14 month old Aidan, who always fancies the kitchen more than his toys, who always tags along to the kitchen, who's currently walking on 5th gear. 3 mins to prepare everything, and another 3-5 mins to stir fry them. alongside with your rice, and voila, a complete meal within minutes. unless you prefer your dish to be with some gravy... but this works fine for me and hardy (alongside telur dadar and kicap!).
STIR FRIED BEEF WITH BROCCOLI
Rump steak beef
1 tbsp Cornflour
1 tbsp Light soy sauce (i used kikoman)
1/2 tsp Sugar
Broccoli - cut into florets
Cooking Oil
2 cloves of Garlic - Finely chopped
1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
2-3 tbsp Chicken/Beef Stock
Sessame Oil
Method:
1. Slice beef very thinly. put in a bowl with cornflour, soy sauce and sugar. mix well. put aside.
2. Stir fry garlic and broccoli in your wok for a couple of mins. push them to one side of the wok and add the beef marinade. stir fry on high heat until meat changes colour.
3. Add the oyster sauce and stock and keep in stirring.
4. Lastly, add a few drops of sessame oil.

Dear zaza,
This is my yahoomail add- sitisalinas@yahoo.co.uk. I've sent you a mail several days ago and don't worry i know you've must been very busy with all the cards and looking after the adorable aidan. I've been very busy with my work as well and at the moment I'm going through quite a rough time. I just want to fly back to Malaysia - my tok has been diagnosed as having colon cancer. I just pray that i am able to see her one last time. She is like my ibu as she's the one who brought me up. Take care and i've already tried the recipe - yummy!
Dear Zaza, As promised sometime back, i hv skim through your blog (this one) and i am impressed, how i wish i am as crafty as u ; ) I hv print out some of your recipes and will ask B perhaps in january to try them out = ) (B is in over his head with work in this season to be shopoholics! thus we hardly get him at home, i hv to do everything alone esp the Xmas shopping! argh!!!! and he's the family cook! cos i simply hate cooking) Well, if u like u can email me ok here - dhortensius@yahoo.com (will give u my real email as soon as i hv your email) Hv a great weekend ZaZa! Hugs and kisses to handsome Aidan.
If I were to do this dish, my kids would pick out the greens and dump them onto my plate! Yay for me coz I loveeee broccoli!

salina, i am so terribly sorry to hear such news. so sorry for this late reply. my heart and my prayers goes out to your tok back home. (salina, i'm gonna reply your email after this k?). i can only imagine how you must be feeling. but please do not ignore your health and studies (which i'm sure you wont). will write more in the email k?
mush: i dont mind doing the christmas shopping mush! and my oh my, what a husband you got there, b does the cooking? what are you guys cooking this christmas? nora's gonna help out?
wiz: aidan is now begining to chuck his greens away! he loves carrots coz its orange! me loves broccoli too! stir fry je suka, masak lain tak suka!
nabia: materials are bought sana sini, i'm always on the lookout wherever i go, let it be some cheap 1euro shops or supermarkets! i cant afford to get expensive ones, coz i dont earn my own money you see.. so i'd have to be on a budget. one advantage of being here is that crafty things are affordable. craft shops pon banyak. but i do miss SSF!! hehe..
