Hungry Anyone?

Since you guys have been so sweet and patient with me... here's a little sweet treat! i know i promised to announce something soon.. but the computer's been down the whole day today. and i still need a few hours to compose myself and compose the news before i could share it with you lot! (dont congratulate me yet guys!)

This was my cupcake theme gift set - it includes a card, a gift box and a magnet. i adore them and i enjoyed making them so much! i almost couldnt stop! (actually. i'm still making somemore!)

I made 7 of these magnets and i'm now left with only 1 at home. will make more of them soon. if any of you would like to have a 'taste' of it, feel free to drop me a line and i'd be happy to give you a quote and make them for you!

I'll let you savour the cakes now... i'm off to bed and hopefully the computer will be better tomorrow... good night everyone... hop by again soon!

{BerrySweet}

I've always loved materials, textiles. we used to get them rolls and rolls from a factory in JB. mum turned them into curtains and cushions. back in school (during my years), most people label those in science stream as 'smart kids' and those in the home sciences/art or ERT as they call it in Malaysia as 'less smarter kids'. (which is totally not true by the way!). but i was always proud of being in the non sciences, happily swinging my bag on the way to sewing classes and always thrilled to go for cooking lessons and see what we're going to bake and cook that day. somehow or rather, i feel that whatever we did in the past had helped me into this person that i am today, every bit of it has its relevance!

I have been working with a lot of textures lately. i've decided to put my papers and cards for a rest (but just for a little while) and venture out on other related crafts. made quite a few already but i think i'll showcase this one first. my craze now is fabrics!

Turned this one into magnets so that i can put them up on our magnet wall (or should i say radiator!)

Well, i'm sure glad i wasnt in the science stream! at least i've learned some basic sewing and cooking!

I'm off for another short holiday. will be away for a week-ish. but i'll try and blog from Hardy's new toy (lets see what the big fuss is all about!). till my next post, have a wonderful weekend everyone. wish us a safe trip!

Decoupage Dutch

I've always been a fan of decoupage. it is quite tidious but the results can be quite rewarding (depending on your effort!). my first one was a cheap ikea vase i did last year. i then did another oval box but that one turned out quite a disaster. i didnt have much time to prepare this for a good. good friend of mine. we met after 3 years during her transit at schiphol airport few months ago. i prepared loads of dutch souvenirs for her to bring home but it simply wouldnt be complete without a handmade item for me.

Found these lovely dutch paper napkins at one of the shops in town long long time ago. i knew i could turn it into something. kept it for way too long on my shelf before i put it into good use. what i did was i got myself a plain oval wooden box and painted it white (thank God it's summer! otherwise it would take ages to really dry!) then i carefuly cut out the motifs and applied a special decoupage glue on the box. lay the paper on it carefully. they're quite fragile. once dried, apply another layer of varnish to secure and make it shine. let it dry for a day or more.

Bought her a very pretty holland porcelain magnet. it fits perfectly well! i should make more of these for us to bring back to malaysia later! (i just hope i have plenty of time to do them! not that we're going back anytime soon anyway... so i'm safe!). a very inexpensive gift (minus labour!) but it comes straight from the heart!

Till my next post!

~ Aiesha ~

I've had a brilliant time with my family. my sister Fifi and her family left for the UK after a 2 week holiday here with us. it was wicked, we travelled north, south, east and west and did a lot of walking, driving, photo taking, playing, laughing and not to mention shopping!

Sorry for not being able to write much sooner. i was enjoying myself too much till i've forgotten all about blogging! will blog more often now that i'm back into routine!

A day before my nephew Ferran's birthday was my cousin's daughter's 1st birthday. she's as cute as a bug and growing cuter each day. here's what i did for her..

Now that the whole family have moved into a new home, i hope she gets to enjoy her time outside in the garden. hope she will get to see butterflies, fireflies and enjoy the flowers. now that she's 1, and soon she'll have a lil sister, i'm pretty sure she'll have a room of her own. so i made a door hanger for her new room.

Sorry we cant be there on your birthday Aiesha, but we're sure you have had the best day with everyone! lots and lots of love, hugs and kisses from auntie zaza, uncle hardy and aidan!

{My Little Pink Book}

See! i told you! i'm now hooked to pink! i'm not a big fan of pink but somehow pink seems to attract my eyes these days. this was my last week's project. and somehow, this week, i've embarked on yet another pink project! just wait and see!

I'm always hunting for good bargains. i'm the one who stands at the bargain corner, or infront of bargain baskets in shops and dig my hands into each and every single item there is. my eyes are always on the lookout for them, but i carefully select them. i found these notebooks at a pharmacy shop! there was a tiny section of stationaries in there, and somewhere underneath the piles of notepads, there were these cute little fabric covered notebooks. they come plain, undecorated and i didnt hesitate to grab them and head straight to the till. loads can be done to them. besides, they were all 50% off!

The pink tessal was a bargain as well! thread your own beads to coordinate with your theme. it will add a whole difference!

So, i've made myself a book to remeber birthdays. i have quite a few now to remember, few new friends, new addition to the family... hope i'll remember to send them a card! again, thanks for the comments and emails guys! i've read them all and will reply to them individually tomorrow. as it's almost midnight... i better head off to bed. till my next post!

Pastel Pink

Just something to share for the weekend. i did this last week. i didnt have much time, and so i decided to make it plain and simple. i quite like the pastel pink and yellow combination. i dont know why but i'm currently into pink! i find myself picking up pink papers, pink ribbons, pink flowers... just wait till you see a few others i did recently! most of them consist of pink!

I love making baby cards. you tend to make them sweet as a candy, pastel and you can surely dress them up!

Ok, its getting late. i better hit the sack and call it a day. here's wishing all of you a great weekend. thanks for all the comments, as usual, lots of love from the bottom of my heart! (i promise to cook this weekend! it was ages ago since i posted a cooking post!). Welterusten...

Baby Blues

A lot of my friends and relatives are expecting, some about to give birth anytime now! Amy in Bangkok is due i think today, Sabrina back in KL is due sometime this month, Juan is expecting a princess and my K.Na is due in September (hopefully close to Aidan's birthdate!). so to celebrate their births, i should better get going with some cards. my sister is ordering some for her friends as well..

Most people keep their doilies in the kitchen. i keep mine in my craft room. they are ever so useful for almost everything from scrapboking, cardmaking to decorating almost all papercrafts. i used some light coloured chipboards, pale blue gingham ribbon and a flower paper ribbon.

Oh, and by the way, that bear is Aidan's first friend- B (B can be for almost anything- bruin, bear, busuk...) but whatever it is, he's the Best! he kept Aidan company since the day he was born.

I'm gonna make more now... and not to mention finishing up some orders. thanks for all your comments. i really appreciate them! till my next post...

{Grab a Bite}

So here's my chocolate cupcake topped with a blueberry button! havent been baking lately (i'm no good in baking and decorating cakes), besides, the mood is still with crafting now that i've got my own work place. i can create cupcakes minus the oven and a mixer! one will need papers, scissors and a button! and there you have it!

Oh, and i did a slice of cake too! i found this box lying around and didnt know what to do with it until a couple of nights ago. it would be nice to have more than one, fill them up with cookies or sweets and display them on a platter for favors!

Go on.... grab a bite and a slice!

The Closest to the Real Thing!

I've tried, but i've failed misserably. so this is probably the closest i can get to making the 'perfect' looking cupcake. its now a craze, here, there, everywhere, cupcakes cupcakes cupcakes! you people out there who bakes and decorate your cakes, i envy you!

Anyway, as usual, i blog and craft only when Aidan's asleep or napping. i've just put him to bed and now will enjoy my free time playing with my new toys - stamps!

Oh, and i made myself a chocolate cupcake! will put it up tomorrow (once i can find the photos). But untill then, enjoy!

New In My Wallet

You know most people keep passport photographs in their wallets. i'm not one of them - until now! last tuesday or so, after complaining to Hardy that i've lost my Albert Heijn reward card, Hardy then was on a mission to search for it. he didnt go that far to find it. he opened up my wallet and "cleaned" it up. it was so bulky, full of receipts and unnecessary things (dont ask me why i still have my malaysian driving licence in there, my dutch licence should be sufficient! ). and i'm embarassed! his wallet was so neat, no receipts, no bits and pieces of papers, no business cards (all tucked away, filed!). He was laughing at me (and i was laughing at myself!), and all the things i had in there.

I then saw 2 pictures in Hardy's - one's Aidan's passport photo, and one's mine tucked neatly at a clear corner. again i felt embarrased for not having Aidan's photos and his in mine. the reason why i dont have their photos is probably because, Aidan's with me all the time. so no need to show pictures of Aidan, when i can show people him in real life! and as for Hardy's, well, he's always close to me and in my heart.. heheh ;) but now, since there's lots of space, i feel that i need to have both my boys in my wallet. and so i did this. an accordion book, a tiny one. fits perfectly in one of the slots.

Now my boys are always with me, in my heart, in my soul, in my mind, and in my wallet!

Blooming Beautifully

I posted this one to Astrid and Peter in Maastricht slighlty before Easter. They are wonderful, beautiful people who loves flowers and gardening. they have a beautiful home, very tastefully decorated and good hearts to match. both are garden enthusiasts, and their garden's just like those ones you see in the magazines.

I wanted to wish them a good easter and a beautiful spring and wish their garden will bloom beautifully this coming season (once the snow stops!). and this is just the card for the occasion! i'm so much in love with blue and yellow these days. they are such a beautiful pair - just like Astrid and Peter!

Happy Birthday Yoyo!

You know, they say best friends are forever, i believe its true, and i am so lucky to have one. she's been there for me through bad times and good. she's always there for me, she listens, she cares, we laugh, we share. i think she's an amazing person with a very good heart. she gives more than she takes, she's very ambitious, strong and full of fun. she knows me, and knows me well, and we read each other like a book!

As i am writing this, my tears are about to roll down my cheeks. i can get very emotional just thinking about her and the fond memories we've shared. this is one person whom i miss so terribly much. we go way way back and i just cant describe what she means to me. she's been an extremely good friend, like my own sister. today, the 23rd of March, she turns 31.

I wish i could fly her here and give her the best treat ever for her birthday. one day... i pray. but there's no other wish better than wishing her all the best, and only the best in everything. for she trully deserve it. i wish all her dreams will come true.
Here's to you Yo, on your birthday! love and miss you loads and loads! come visit us soon...

Happy Spring!

Spring is my favourite time to hunt for things. i love pastels, i love flowers, i love the smell of spring. colours! everthing's full of colours!

There's so much to look forward to this spring. we're going to do up the garden, plant more plants, buy Aidan his sandpit, slide and hopefully a swing, a trip to Keukenhof and hopefully we will get to travel again this spring/summer and see other parts of Europe.

I've been busy with cards and presents for the past week. 2 to JB, 1 to London, 1 to Maastricht, and i prepared a gift to be sent to Switzerland (you guys know who you are, so better watch for the postman!). i'm still doing up some more, to be sent to the states (finally, after a long wait for your address haha :) - you know who you are!), and a belated birthday card to the land of my favourite soap Home&Away!) .

My hyacinths were covered with snow yesterday! we had some snow showers, yes, in march! on Good Friday! weird weather. but anyway to those who celebrate Easter, here's one to you guys! and to all of us, hope our lives will be filled with loads of beautiful colours! enjoy spring!

There will be plenty more crafts, cards and cooking to celebrate spring coming up! thanks for visiting!
